MY FWIENDS!!!!! YOU'RE NOT DUUUUUUST! [Annnnd, cue the tearful reunion. Papyrus hugs his partners tightly!] I'M SHO HAPPEHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

...There's no need to cry. Gym battles are difficult at first, but after some rest and a few more weeks of training for your Pokémon, I've no doubt you'll win the badge easily.

Turn to dust? As far as I know, even legendaries do not possess such power. A strong Fire-type attack could burn their hair to cinders, but little more than that.
